Desert Island Discs

(1942)

A long running BBC Radio programme.  A guest, or 'Castaway', is asked to select eight recordings, one book and one luxury to take with them if they were stranded on a desert island.  These items are used as a jumping off point for the guests to talk about their lives and the reasons for their choices.  Castaways are selected from all walks of life.
