Despite being born in East London, Windsor Davies is considered one of Wales most loved actors. He relocated to his parents home town in Ogmore Valley just before the second World War.
Best known for his role as Battery Sergeant Major Williams in the TV sitcom It Ain't Half Hot Mum between 1974 and 1981.
Alongside his Aint Half Hot Mum co-star, Don Estelle, Davies had a number one hit single with 'Whispering Grass'.
Also well known for his role as Oliver Smallbridge in the TV comedy Never the Twain which ran for a decade from 1981.
