Was a successful striker for Celtic from 1969 until 1977 when he oved to Liverpool FC where he remained intil 1990, ending his career there in the role of Player-Manager.  He returned to Liverpool FC as manager for the 2011/2012 season having managed Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United and Celtic between 1991 and 2000.

Signed with Celtic when he was just 16 years old.
Won 4 Scottish First Division titles, 4 Scottish cups and one Scottish league cup during his career with Celtic in the 1970s.
Scored 112 goals in 204 matches

Liverpool FC Years

Signed for the club on August 10th 1977 for a British transfer fee record of £440,000.  
Made his debut in the Charity Shield cup final at Wembley against Manchester United.
Won 6 First Division championships, 2 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, 7bCharity Shields, 3 European Cups and 1 UEFA Super Cup and played 515 matches, scoring 172 goals.
Made his final match appearance on May 5th 1990.
Became player-Manager in 1985, the first such role in British football.

Football Manager

Won the double for LFC in 1985/86 as player-manager
Manager of the year in 1986, 1988 and 1990
Won 3 league titles, 2 FA Cups and the Screens Sport Super Cup as Liverpool's manager.  
Left LFC in Feb 1991 to manage Blackburn Rovers taking them on to win the title
Returned to LFC in 2011/12 and lead the team to victory in the Carling cup, the clubs first trophy since 2006.
To date, 2018, he is Scotland's most capped player of all time with 102 caps.
Awarded an MBE in 1984 and was knighted in 2018.
In 2017, LFC named their new centenary stand the Kenny Dalglish Stand in recognition of his contribution to the club spanning a 40 year period.
In 2017 a feature film, 'Kenny', was released telling teh story of his life and legendary career.
Was given the nickname 'The King' by Liverpool supporters.
