Was the other half of Wham! alongside George Michael achieving huge chart hits with Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, Last Christmas and I'm Your Man among others.  The band split in 1986 and was considered by George Michael to be "the most amicable split in pop history”.

Co-wrote George Michael's first solo single, Careless Whisper.

After Wham! split in 1986, he tried his hand at Formula 3 racing, acting and released a solo album, Son of Albert, in 1990.  He made his last public appearance in 1991 when he appeared on stage with George Michael at the Rock in Rio. 

Wham! became the first Western pop group permitted to tour in China in 1985.

Was as a backing singer alongside Kiki Dee for a performance by Elton John and George Michael at Live Aid in 1985.
