Emmigrated from Scotland to Australia in 1963 with his parents.
Founded the band ACDC with his younger brother Angus, one of Australia's most sucessful bands having sold more than 200 million records. The band's name was born after the brothers saw the initials for alternating current/direct current on the back of their sister's sewing machine.
Released their first album in 1975 and hit the big time with their 6th album Highway to Hell in 1979.
In 2014 founding member Malcolm retired from the band as he was diagnosed with dementia. His nephew Stevie Young replaced him.
