Prime Ministerial Assassination

In May 1812 Perceval became the only British Prime Minister to be assassinated.  John Bellingham had a grievance against the government's failure to compensate him for his treatment a few years previously, when he had been imprisoned in Russia for a trading debt.  He entered the lobby of the House of Commons on Monday 11th of May, and shot Perceval dead at about 5.15pm.
