Philippa Scott

In his last letter to his wife before his death in 1912, about their young son Captain Scott asked her to "make him interested in natural history if you can
it is better than games."  Peter fulfilled his father's wishes, leading a life as a successful naturalist during which he helped establish the World Wildlife Fund in 1961 and in 1973 received a knighthood for his contribution to the conservation of wild animals.  

Peter won a bronze medal for sailing in the 1936 Berline Olympics.  20 years later he took up gliding and became British champion in 1963.

Peter's Godfather was J M Barrie,  the author of Peter Pan.

Peter was the founder of the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust which he ran alongside his wife, Philippa.
