'I'll be missing you' spent 11 weeks at number one in the US Billboard charts. He dedicated the song to his friend Biggie Smalls who was murdered.  Released his first album, No Way Out, in the same year to platinum success.

Faced charges of illegal gin procession in 1999.  He was cleared of all charges after a 3 month trial at the beginning of 2001.

Name Changes

Born Sean Combs, his childhood nickname was Puffy.  This became Puff Daddy in 1997 when he started rapping which he then shortened to P.Diddy.  P. Diddy became Diddy as he felt the 'P' was coming between him and his fans.  After being known as Sean Diddy Combs for many years, he changed his name again in 2017 to Love, aka Brother Love, although he also admitted that Puff Daddy has always been his favourite name.
