In 1957, JFK won the Pulitzer Prize for his book Profiles in Courage.

Played a major role in creating the Peace Corps in 1961. ,

Gained a Bachelor of Science degree in international affairs from Harvard Univserity in 1940.

Youngest Elected US President.

JFK became President of the USA at the age of 43 making him, to date, the youngest man elected to the office.  He was also the youngest president to die.  

4th US President to be Assassinated.

JFK was assassinated in his open top motor car while on a visit to Dallas in November 1963.  He was the 4th American President to be assassinated and the 8th to die while in office.

Was the target of at least 4 assassination attempts before he was killed in Dallas and received the last rites on 3 occasions before his death in 1963 -  in 1947 after becoming very sick in England; in 1951 when suffering a high fever in Japan and in 1954 after back surgery.

He was a major fan of James Bond, From Russia With Love being one of his 10 favourite books.

Scratched his PT-109 rescue message on a coconut husk while stranded in the South Pacific during World War II.  H went on to use it as a paperweight on his Oval Office desk.

Donated his Presidential salary to charity every year.

Was the first boy scout to become a US President.
